The invention relates to an inner seal for a blade cell adjusting device, comprising a drive gear (2) with a hollow chamber and which is connected to the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine by means of a toothed belt or distribution chain, as well as comprising a blade wheel (13) which is inserted into the hollow chamber (9) and rotationally fixed to the camshaft of an internal combustion engine. The drive gear (2) has at least one working chamber (5) inside its peripheral wall (3). The blades of the blade wheel subdivide each working chamber (5) into two respective pressure chambers (10, 11). In order to avoid leakage of pressure means, in-between the pressure chamber (10, 11) of each working chamber (4) and in-between each individual working chamber (5), the invention provides that each blade of the blade wheel (13) is configured as a separate blade segment (18) which can move inside a guide (15) in the blade wheel (13) and which is radially sealed against leakage by the radial centrifugal force resulting from the rotation of the blade cell adjusting device (1) during operation of the engine and acting on each blade segment (18), in addition to being axially sealed against leakage by at least one pre-stressed axial sealing element (23).
