A yarn tension sensor diverts the yarn path with adeflecting guide (25) and measures the transverse force exerted by the yarn (9) with a force measuring device (19,20,21). Means (10,11) are provided to thermally decouple the deflecting guide (25) from the force measuring device (19,20,21).
