The invention concerns a method for treating bivalves such as oysters (4), clams and the like, consisting in cracking the bivalve open during or at the end of the culture cycle, by soaking them in an appropriate solution, then in inserting between the two valves means for sectioning the adductor, said means capable of being actuated outside the bivalve. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: inserting between the two valves, transversal to the bivalve (4) and beyond the adductor (7) relative to bivalve hinge, a food type ductile elongated cutting member(1), anchoring one end (2) of said elongated member outside the bivalve, the opposite end of said elongated member (1) being provided with a prehensile element (6) left outside the bivalve (4). The invention is applicable for treating bivalves for opening. |
