PURPOSE:To enable rapid variable power operation by providing a focusing correction control means so that a deviation in an imaging position is surely corrected even if variable power driving is stopped at any point of the time. CONSTITUTION:This controller has the focusing correction means 11 which calculates the amt. of correction to correct the deviation in the imaging position from the focal length and controls a focusing driving means so as to move a focusing lens group to a focusing position according to this amt. correction while a variable power lens group is driven. The focusing correction control means 11 executes the control so as to drive the focusing lens group to the focusing position by the focusing driving means after stopping the variable power lens group at the point of the time when the variable power means driving the variable power lens group by a driving instruction signal receives stop instruction signal, thereby automatically correcting the deviation in the imaging position arising from the updating of the focal length of he entire system. The deviation in the imaging position is thereby surely corrected and the vapid variable power and focusing operations are completed even if the variable power driving is stopped at any point of the time. |
