The nipple (1) is produced by cold forming one end of a thin-walled high-tensile steel pipe. One conical surface rests tightly against the hollow conical wall of a counter-piece (4). The nipple is screwed tightly to the union nut supported on a second conical surface of the nipple. The nipple has a wall thickness double that of the rest of the pipe. The contact surfaces of the nipple are harder than the counter-contact surfaces. The cone angle of the nipple's sealing surface is over 100 degrees .
