An interceptor tray for use in the collection of spilt lubricating and fuel oils, petroleum and the like comprises a base tray (1) adapted for the retention of a quantity liquid therein and defining an outlet (8). A perforated platform (7) is provided across the top of the tray (1) on which an item of static plant, oil drums or other outdoor mechanical equipment can be stood and through which liquids such as oils can drain into the tray (1). A walled enclosure (9) is located in the base tray (1) beneath the platform (7) and surrounds the outlet (8). An inlet (10) is provided into the enclosure (9) at the bottom of the tray (1) and the outlet (8) for the base tray (1) is located at the top of the enclosure (9). In use, the interceptor tray is initially filled with clean water up to the level of the outlet pipe (8). An oil drum or item of machinery or plant is then stood on the platform (7). Thereafter, any oil and fuel spillages, drips and the like which emanate from the drum or item will pass through the perforated platform (7) into the base tray (1) for retention.
