RAILWAY PLATFORM GAP FILLER

摘要

An apparatus for dynamically filling a gap (8) between a side of a railway train car and an adjacent edge (12) of a station or loading platform (10) for preventing accident or injury to passengers while boarding or alighting from the train. A plurality of flexible, flat planar sheet-like members (18) project outwardly from a vertical platform edge surface (12) that is confrontingly opposed to the side of a railway train car adjacent to the platform (10). The extension of the projecting members (18) from the platform (10) is such that as an approaching train moves into proximity with the platform (10), the train contacts the projecting members (18) so as to resiliently bend the projecting members (18) in the direction of movement; thereby filling the gap (8).
