<p>The lock blocking system provides additional protection against burglary and can be retrofitted to an existing lock (44). The lock can be blocked and unblocked either from the inside or the outside of the door. In order to lock and block the lock from the outside, the user has first to lock the lock with the proper key. Then, he/she has to enter the right combination by means of the four tumbler discs (3). The tumbler discs (3) cooperate with corresponding gear wheels (4). Each gear wheel has a transversal through-hole (21). When the right combination is entered all the through-holes (21) are aligned, so that they form a continuous channel (21) through which air can flow. Then, the user has to turn the outside handle (9) which actuates on the wheel (14) and the lever (17) which moves the piston (16) inside the pump (15), so that air is compressed and can flow through the channels (23, 21, 24), reaching the chamber (31) and pushing the piston (33) which blocks the lock follower (43). In order to unblock the lock from the outside, the user has to enter the right combination and then, turn the outside handle (9) in the opposite direction. The lock (44) can also be blocked or unblocked from the inside by means of the inside lever (40), which operates on the rod (39), the cam (38) and the spring (37), to extend or, respectively, to retract the blocking piston (33).</p> |
