On-line, localised automatic control of weight profile across a web of paper in the papermaking machine

The method adjusts the weight profile across a web of paper, at the papermaking machine head box, i.e. the suspension distributor. A suspension of differing fibre concentration (deviant) is admixed locally. Alternatively, a local admixture of diluent water (diluent) is introduced. The volumetric flow over the width to be affected, is held constant. In the new method, a flow of suspension from the distributor is carried away over a localised width, as a side stream. This corresponds with the supplied deviant- or diluent flow.
