A mounting system comprises a fastening stud (1) having at least one recess (2) at its outer periphery and a mounting part (10; 30) which can be applied thereto and has a cavity (11) extending in an axial direction (A) upwardly from the base for receiving the fastening stud (1) through a mounting orifice (16) located at the underside (9). The mounting part (10; 30) has a plurality of locking elements (13, 14) projecting from the internal wall (12) of the cavity (11). At least one upper locking element (13) and one adjacent lower locking element (14) are capable of catching jointly in the recess (2) and the cooperation between the at least two caught locking elements (13, 14) produces resistance to a removal force (F) acting substantially in the axial direction (A) which is greater than the resistance of an individual caught locking element. A mounting part (10; 30) which can be applied to a fastening stud (1) and with at least one upper locking element (13) and one adjacent lower locking element (14) bendable at least into mutual contact is also disclosed.
