The tool has a processing unit incorporated into a tool-holder (14) for processing tools (`5), a spindle head (2) with horizontal operating spindle (4) for rotating the workpiece (7) held on it. A tailstock (3) provides extra support of the workpiece held in the spindle head. The tailstock and spindle head are mounted on guide rails (9,10) so as to move between the operating unit and a workpiece holder position. The spindle head and tailstock can move in at least two directions at right angles to each other.
