An adhesive-backed (22) flexible seal, label or gasket (2), which is suited for use on a metal housing of an electronic component, is carried, prior to application to the housing, on a liner (4) that dissipates static electrical charges. The liner (4) includes a sheet (24) of flexible liner material and a layer (28) of dead soft aluminum bonded to the sheet (24) and exposed on one of its surfaces.
