<p>An automotive gear-change assembly has two control units (15,16) arranged at an angle to each other and coupled to a common gear-change lever. The gear change hand lever is operated by forward/back and side-to-side motions and by rotation. Each gear control unit (15,16) incorporates preferably a hydraulically-operated piston (24,25) allowing the withdrawal for repositioning and rotation of the gear-change rod and selection of the appropriate gear. The two control units can be installed close to the gearbox or in another suitable position. The pistons may operate together with a lever (6,94) that is connected to a selector shaft (9,92).</p> |
