[Also in Division E2] A mechanism for holding a seat back in any number of different angular positions relative to the seat proper comprises an arcuate toothed member 18 secured to the seat back, a locking plate 20 pivoted at 19 on the seat proper, the plate 20 having teeth 20e for meshing with the arcuate member 18 and a control part 21 pivoted at 16 on the hinge axis of the seat. A control handle 24 engages control part 21 and may be operated to bring control part 21 into contact with locking plate 20 to move the later into and out of mesh with the arcuate member 18.</p> |
