PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform register control with high accuracy from the beginning on and after the second time when the same plate cylinder is used to perform printing by a multicolor printing rotary press. SOLUTION: When printing is performed twice or more by using the same plate cylinder by a multicolor rotary press, at a time of first printing, the register shift plate error quantity inherent to a plate cylinder is determined from the difference between the register shift quantity in actual printed matter B and the register shift quantity detected by the register shift detector 16 of a register control apparatus 30. This error quantity is preserved in a server 34 and, at a time of next printing, the plate error quantity is preset to the register control apparatus 30. |
