摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an R-Fe-B series rare earth magnet alloy coarse powder having high bulk density so as to execute hydrogen treatment and/or heat-treatment efficiently more than the conventional one and contg. low oxygen. SOLUTION: The molten metal of an alloy composed of R (R denotes one or >= two kinds among rare earth elements including Y), Fe and B is rapidly cast into a thin sheet by a strip casting method, this thin sheet is subjected to mechanical coarse crushing to regulate the average grain size of the coarse powder to the range of 0.1 to 1 mm and also to regulate a size distribution in which the ratio of the one under 150 mesh is regulated to <=50 wt.% and the one under 16 mesh to >=50 wt.%, subjected to heat treatment at 800 to 1100 deg.C according to necessary and is next subjected to hydrogen treatment.
