PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monolithic refractories which allows the completion of drying a shorter time without accompanying the degradation in characteristics, such as corrosion resistance, and are suitable for drying by irradiation with microwaves under a reduced pressure and a process for producing monolithic refractory constructions by using the same. SOLUTION: The monolithic refractories suitable for drying by the irradiation with the microwaves contain 3 to 10 wt.% hydraulicitic cement as a binder and 0.01 to 2.0 wt.%, in outer percentage, org. fibers or a hollow form of <=1 mm in outside diameter and 0.5 to 20 mm in length. This process for producing the monolithic refractoriy constructions consists in adding a suitable volume of water to the monolithic refractories, kneading the refractories, further pouring the mixture, placing the mixture under a reduced pressure after curing and drying the mixture by the irradiation with the microwaves. |
