<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed matte ink which has a matting effect with sufficiently high decorative feature, is free from plate piling and blanket piling, and enables stable printing by using a thermally expansive fine hollow filler having a specified mean particle diameter and a porous particulate silica as the constituents, and to obtain a method for coating by using the ink. SOLUTION: The thermally expansive fine hollow filler consists of an outer shell and an enclosed gas or liquid, wherein the outer shell comprises a polymer such as a vinylidene chloride resin having gas barrier properties and having extensibility and resilience when heated. The enclosed gas or liquid comprises a substance having low heat conductivity, such as trichlorofluoromethane which vaporizes at 50-200 deg.C and is thermally expansive. The filler has a mean particle diameter of at most 12μm and is added in an amount of 1-10 wt.% based on the ink composition. The porous particulate silica comprises primary particles chemically bonded through a siloxane bond, has many pores and a mean particle diameter of 0.1-12μm, and is added in an amount of 2-30 wt.% based on the ink composition.</p> |
