PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy to manufacture and high reliability bathtub with an overflow device which maintains a reference water level in the bathtub during injection of water or hot water before taking a bath and prevents the hot water from overflowing from the bathtub and prevents the hot water overflowing from the bathtub during a sharp rising of water level in the bathtub which occurs when a user dips in the bathtub, for example and stops wasteful discharge of water and enables the user people to be submerged to the shoulder in the bathtub. SOLUTION: This device comprises an intake opening 2, which is positioned at a reference water level L1 at the point of time at which bathtub water can be drained in a mounting hole 2b which is opened at the specified reference water level L1 of a side wall 7a in the bathtub and a cylinder-shaped body 3 provided with an emission opening 3a communicated with this intake opening 2. An emission opening 3a of an overflow device 1 provided with a float 4, which follows with fluctuations of bath water, is connected near the intake opening 2 of the cylinder-shaped body 3 so that it may turn freely on both ways. The overflow device 1 is designed to raise the intake opening 2 with the float 4 when the water level in the bathtub rises sharply and exceeds the specified reference water level L1 and projects the opening of the intake opening 2 on the water surface, thereby halting the discharge water. |
