PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant resin composition, excellent in flame retardance and heat resistance without generating toxic gases such as halogen gases at the time of combustion, good in other various physical properties, moldable into various molded products and suitably used as a material for especially a covering layer or a sheath layer of electric wires and cables. SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. resin component of 40-80% ethylene-α-olefin copolymer having 0.1-10 g/10 min melt index(MI) and 0.870-0.930 g/cm<3> density and 60-20% ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer having 0.1-50 g/10 min MI and 10-40% ethyl acrylate content, 30-150 pts.wt. mixture of calcium carbonate with talc at a compounding ratio of the calcium carbonate to the tale within the range of (1:0.3) to (1:1.2) and 1-20 pts.wt. organopolysiloxane having 0.06-2 m<2> /sec kinematic viscosity at 23 deg.C. |
