PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join sheets within a minimum 'deviation' at any time by letting an edge of a tip of a stand-by sheet follow up an edge of a sheet which is running and is being reeled out and matching them automatically. SOLUTION: A controller 17 compares the results of measurement from a line sensor 11 of a sheet of a roll 1 which is being reeled out and a line sensor 12 of a sheet of a roll 1 which is in a stand-by condition at all times during the period when instructions for operation are given and sends an operation amount which is equivalent to a 'deviation' to a servo motor 15 when the 'deviation' occurs in the results of measurement. The servo motor 15 operates a barlike member 13 provided with a suction pad 14 in the direction of a right angle for the direction of running. Consequently, the feedback adjustment is done so that an edge of a tip of a sheet which is in a stand-by condition coincides with an edge of a sheet which is running to join them due to the 'deviation' within about 3 mm. |
