PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device of a vehicle to start steering control in a travelling state suitable for a driver's will and steering control by judging from operation of the driver and the travelling state of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This device has an operation means M3 for a driver to carry out preliminary operation for starting of steering control and starting operation, a preliminary judgement means M4 to judge whether it is a preliminary state of starting of steering control or not from a travelling state of a vehicle and existence of the preliminary operation and a starting judgement means M5 to start the steering control by judging whether it is a starting state of the steering control or not from the travelling state of the vehicle and existence of the starting operation after it is judged as the preliminary state. Consequently, it is possible to prevent starting of careless steering control against a will of the driver by making the driver be aware of starting of control after stepping on steps.
