PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for thermally fusing a solid ink by supplying a plurality of solid inks contained in an ink cassettes intermittently to a recording head through an ink supply means thereby containing a large quantity of ink easily in a printer. SOLUTION: An ink cassette holder 23 comprising an ink cassette 22 containing a plurality of spherical solid inks 21 is disposed above a carriage 10 along with an ink supply lever 24. Upon shortage of ink in the ink tank 12, the carriage 10 is shifted to the end of printer arranged with the ink cassette holder 23 and the ink supply lever 24 and the solid ink 21 contained in the ink cassette 22 is supplied to an ink fusing section 13. According to the structure, a large quantity of ink can be contained easily in a printer while shortening the time required for fusing the solid ink and thereby the printing of printer. |
