PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve the adhesion of a coated layer in brine for a long time by increasing the cooling rate of the surface of a bonded polyolein sheet side of a steel sheet pile, as compared with the cooling rate of the surface of the sheet pile on the opposite side, in a cooling process after the thermal bonding of the polyolefin sheet. SOLUTION: The heavy-duty corrosion-resistant coated steel sheet pile is structured of a sheet pile 1, a primer layer 2, a modified polyolefin layer 3 and a corrosion-resistant polyolefin layer 4. The steel sheet pile 1 is previously caused to undergo a foundation treatment such as degreasing, acid washing and shot blast. The primer layer 2 is of epoxy resin or urethane resin so that the adhesion between the surface of sheet pile 1 to which the foundation treatment is applied and the modified polyolefin layer 3 is improved. The corrosion- resistant polyolefin layer 4 is coated to the heated sheet pile 1 through the modified polyolefin layer 3. Further, the sheet pile 1 is cooled in a cooling step after the completion of the bonding process in such a manner that the cooling rate of the surface of the corrosion-resistant polyolefin layer 4 is higher than that of the surface of the opposite side of the sheet pile 1. |
