PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a carbon containing refractory for molten metal excellent in durability (mainly corrosion resistance) to a high temp. and low basicity (C/S) slag without deteriorating a slaking resistance. SOLUTION: This refractory is composed of 30-95 wt.% (MgO-CaO-ZrO2 ) clinker consisting of <=30 wt.% or <=50 wt.% (CaO+ZrO2 ) (CaO/(CaO+ZrO2 ) is (0.05-0.14) or (0.15-0.31)) and the balance MgO and 5-25 wt.% carbon material refractory starting material, and moreover, <=65 wt.% more than one kind refractory starting material selected among MgO, Al2 O3 , spinal and ZrO2 is added at need. |
