PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor printer and a printing system employing a so-called tandem system in which color shift can be prevented in the main scanning direction, subscanning direction and θ direction by especially eliminating relative positional shift of a print element (print head). SOLUTION: A print position data measured for each image forming unit by an XYZ measuring jig is delivered to a host computer 25 through drive control at an XYZ measuring jig control section 35. The host computer 25 operates a correction value for each direction (main scanning direction, subscanning direction, θ direction) and determines the means of operation results for each direction which is captured by a CPU 26 through a print control section 30 and a video I/F control section 31. The data thus captured is stored in an EEPROM 29 under control of the CPU 26 and a correction control section 32. At the time of printing, a corrected value is read out from the EPROM 29 and a print data is outputted to a color engine section 24 under control of a head control section 31 thus printing the data at a correct print position on a recording sheet. |
