PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an injury preventive liquid useful for preserving spermatozoons at a low temperature as substantially holding the physiological function by formulating a specific long chain alcohol and a lipid. SOLUTION: This spermatozoon low temperature injury preventive liquid is obtained by adding (A) a 10-14C long chain alcohol [e.g. lauryl alcohol (12C) and the like] and (B) a lipid (e.g.α-tocopherol and the like) to a diluent (e.g. BTS diluent and the like) followed by ultrasonication. As the concentration of the above components, the components A and B are preferably 0.01-0.1 wt.% and 0.1-1 wt.%, respectively. Further, the cell low temperature injury preventive liquid is obtained by additionally adding (C) serum albumin to the above component referably at a concentration of 0.2-1 wt.%. By using the above these preventive liquids, the physiological function can be held even after cold shock rapidly cooling at 2-3 deg.C is given to spermatozoons and cells.
