PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hot melt ink satisfactory in basic performances and printing quality, showing good adhesion even to a not ink-penetrative OHP sheet, having excellent light transmittance and suited for hot melt ink jet by specifying the heat of fusion of a hot melt ink jet printer ink which is normally solid and is used by being molten by heating. SOLUTION: The heat of fusion of the ink should be 200 J/g or below. The hot melt ink comprises 5-60 wt.% at least one resin (A), 20-90 wt.% at least one wax (B) having a melting point of 50-200 deg.C and 0.1-10 wt.% colorant (C). The weight-average molecular weight of component A is desirably 500-5000,000. The resin is desirably a oil-soluble one and is exemplified by a polyethylene resin. Component B used is one stable against heat and is exemplified by petroleum wax, desirably paraffin wax. Component C used may be any dye or pigment that is conventionally used in an oil-base ink. |
