摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the edge drop, and to obtain the metal strip with the satisfactory precision of a plate thickness in the plate width direction by rolling with work rolls made of a sintered hard alloy including a specific quantity of tungsten carbide. SOLUTION: If the quantity of the tungsten carbide in the sintered hard alloy is 50 wt.% or over, the edge drop can be satisfactorily reduced. However, when its content is too much, deflective strength to be the index of roll strength deteriorates, and since there is the possibility that the roll is damaged during rolling, the content is set to 88 wt.% or below. Thus sintered hard alloy is manufactured by adding alloys such as cobalt, nickel, etc., and carbide, etc., to tungsten carbide powder and by sintering it. By adding metals and alloys with high toughness, such as nickel and cobalt, the pressure-resistant strength of rolling rolls is increased. Since it is disadvantageous in cost to use this sintered hard alloy for integrated rolls, the sintered hard alloy is applied only to roll barrel part, and it is preferable that its thickness is 3% or over of the radius of the roll.</p>
