PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition hardly affected by generated heat and a contaminating abrasion powder, and capable of stably being used for a long period by formulating a base oil, a surfactant and a phospholipid. SOLUTION: This metal working fluid composition comprises (A) a base oil, (B) a surfactant and (C) a phospholipid. The component A is preferably the one selected from a mineral oil, a natural oil and fat, a synthetic ester and a synthetic hydrocarbon. The component B is preferably a nonionic surfactant such as a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. The component C is exemplified by albumen lecithin and soybean lecithin. Preferably, for example, the composition is obtained by blending 0.5-20 wt.% component B and 0.5-30 wt.% component C with a processing oil composition before diluting the composition with water, and contains emulsion particles having 3-10μm average particle diameters. When the composition is used for a rolling oil for a tandem rolling machine, preferably, 0.5-5 wt.% component C and a suitable amount of component B are used and the emulsion particles in the oil composition are regulated so as to have 3-10μm average particle diameters. |
