PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of informing the number of printable sheets of various charts or originals, the number of residual printable sheets, the number of reproducible sheets, and the number of residual reproducible sheets to a user, and to provide a copying machine. SOLUTION: Image data of a desired chart is input from a PC 119, image processing similar to that at the time of normal recording operation is executed by an image processor 113, the data is converted into image data adapted to a recorder 107, and converted to an ink consumption amount of its chart in an image data-ink consumption amount converter 115. The number of printable sheets is calculated from ink volume and ink consumption amount previously stored in a memory 103 by a CPU 101, and displayed. |
