<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject agent that has high selectivity with no effect on other microorganisms, has a medicinal action, particularly anti-Helicobacter pylori action and is useful for treatment of digestive ulcers. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical agent contains, as an active ingredient, 2-(2-heptenyl)-3-methyl-4(1H) quinolone represented by the formula. This active ingredient is prepared, for example, by subjecting a microorganism that is separated from the soil collected from amami island in Japan, Pseudomomas sp. Q(33160 strain (FERM P 16177), to the submerged culture at 15-37 deg.C at a pH of 4-9 for 10-168 hours and isolating the target compound from the culture mixture.</p> |
