<p>In a discoidal recording medium that is recorded or played back by a recording/playback head mounted on a head slider, the disk surface and/or head slider are also formed with a predetermined pattern of undulation. With the recording/playback head mounted on the head slider placed in contact with the discoidal recording medium, the recording and playback are performed. This makes the recording/playback head and discoidal recording medium unlikely to be worn out and assures good recording and playback characteristics. <IMAGE></p> |
