The deflector (4) hinges between the rest position (I) with the roof (2) shut and the fully-extended one (II) with it open. It is also movable into a set intermediate position (III) between these first two (I,II). A movable driving dog (5) is detached from the hinge mechanism with the roof shut. It engages with this mechanism on at least partial opening, after which it brings the deflector into different intermediate positions dependent on the amount for which the roof is opened. The hinge mechanism can comprise a slide (7) coupled to a pivoting hinge spindle (8) of the deflector. The dog engages with the track (7a) of the slide when the roof is partly open.
