The clutch release bearing comprises a ball bearing (1) mounted on an actuator (2) of a synthetic material with a tubular section (3) and a radial collar (4) which receives the contact forks (25) of a control member. The collar is equipped with a thin sheet metal anti-wear plate (20), held in place by locking tongues (23) with tips engaging with the actuator. The locking tongues can be located on either the inner or outer edge of the anti-wear plate, engaging in the latter case with a rim projecting at right angles from the edge of the collar.
