<p>A method is disclosed for cutting the end of a tube along its curve of penetration with the surface of a body which intersects the central axis of the tube at an angle. Said cutting takes place by means of a cutting apparatus, whose cutting element is moved substantially along the curve of penetration of the tube and the body, and a fusion edge is formed at least in the toe zone. The tube is cut along a curve which deviates from the curve of penetration in the heel zone, in such a manner that the end of the tube will butt against the surface of the body in the intended heel zone, and that the end of the tube will remain spaced from the surface of the body, at least in the toe zone, leaving clear a spacing. In this manner it is possible to effect root fusion without using shims. <IMAGE></p> |
