The apparatus (10) for production of enamel frit from a mixture of raw materials includes a rotary furnace (12) for melting this mixture, and a unit (20) for cooling and granulating the melt issuing from the furnace. The cooling and granulating unit (20) has at least two adjoining cooling surfaces (41) which are provided with coolant circulation, and are movable relative to the melt outlet opening of the furnace. The unit (20) is moved relative to the melt outlet opening of the furnace.
