PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply produce a funtionally gradient material in which a layer having a metallic compsn. and a layer having a ceramics compsn. are firmly and securely integrated by mixing raw material powder on the side of metals having a specified compsn. contg. AlN or the like and raw material powder on the side of ceramics having a specified compsn. contg. Al or the like and executing compacting and sintering. SOLUTION: Raw material powder on the side of metals having a compsn. contg., by weight, 15 to 75% Mo, 3 to 20% Cu, 2 to 10% Al, 3 to 30% AlN, <=0.3% Mg, 0.5 to 5% Co, <=0.5% Ni, 5 to 30% Mo C, <=0.3% Ag and 0.1 to 5% C and raw material powder on the side of ceramics having a compsn. contg. 70 to 90% AlN, 5 to 25% Al, <=3% Zr, <=2% Cr, <=3% WC, <=2% Mo and <=1% C are mixed, which is incorporated with 0.1 to 5% hydride according to necessary, and compacting is executed. This compacted body is sintered at 1430 to 1850 deg.C in a nitrogen atmospher. After the, the sintered compact is subjected to atmospheric heat treatment, by which the ceramics in the layer having a metallic compsn. are inverted into metals and the metals in the layer having a ceramics compsn. are inverted into ceramics respectively. |
