FAULT RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR ATM LOGIC IP SUB NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent interruption of communication due to stop of an address resolution server in the operation of an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) logic Internet Protocol(IP) sub network. SOLUTION: In the case that the server operation is stopped due to a fault of an existing Next Hop address resolution protocol Server(NHS) 4 to conduct address, resolution in a logic IP sub network, a standby NHS control section 63 in a standby NHS 6 instructs revision of a server operation to allow the standby NHS 6 to act like an address resolution server. Furthermore, an Next Hop address resolution protocol client(NHC) control section 53 in an NHC 5a retrieves an address of the standby NHS 6 registered in a server address database 51 to allow the standby NHS 6 to conduct the communication of an address resolution request.
