<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image pickup device which reproduces an image in a normal direction regardless of an image pickup direction when a compressed image in recording media is expanded. SOLUTION: An image compressing part 10 in a digital image pickup device 100 undergoes DCT(discrete cosine transformation) processing of image data held in frame memory 12 after photographing in accordance with a detection result of a photographic direction detecting part 16, and after that, records it on recording media after turning it 90 degrees, quantizing it and encoding it. In such cases, even pixel number data of the vertical and horizontal directions of the image data are exchanged and recorded.</p> |
