A pure fluid switch comprises a power stream nozzle 58 which normally delivers to a first output 60 in the absence of a control signal in channel 78 but is deflected to a second output 66 when a control signal is applied. The control channel leads to a diffusion chamber 72 having a mouth 73 which is substantially larger than the nozzle 58. This arrangement provides switching of the jet by the static fluid pressure formed in the chamber 72 as opposed to the normal jet impingement effect used in fluid switches. A cavity 70 on the opposite side open to ambient pressure or a sink switches the jet back by the same effect when the control signal ceases.</p> |
