PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase joining strength between an air electrode layer and a solid electrolyte layer and prevent peeling off even if thermal cycles are applied by making the vicinity coming in contact with the solid electrolyte layer of the air electrode layer denser than other part of the air electrode layer. SOLUTION: A cylindrical solid electrolyte fuel cell is constituted by forming an air electrode layer 1 on the inside of a cylindrical solid electrolyte layer 2 and a fuel electrode layer 3 on the outside, and electrically connecting the air electrode layer 1 to a current collector 4. The air electrode layer 1 is constituted with an inner layer formed on the side coming in contact with air and an outer layer formed on the side coming in contact with the solid electrolyte layer 2, the thickness of the outer layer is made 50 μm or more from the surface coming in contact with the solid electrolyte layer 2, and made denser than the inner surface. Preferably, the relative density of the inner layer is made 60-75% and that of the outer layer is made 65-80%. The thickness of the outer layer is preferably 100-500 μm. The fuel cell having long life can be obtained. |
