摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate reverse flow of air from an exhaust side, and increase absorbing horse power of an engine auxiliary brake device by providing with a variable exhaust means formed in such a constitution that an operation of an exhaust communicating means is started before a bottom dead center of an intake stroke by an intake valve at the time of a predetermined operation, and an operation of the exhaust communicating means is completed after the bottom dead center of an intake resistance. SOLUTION: A decelerating operation is carried out by returning an accelerating pedal at the time of turning-on of an engine auxiliary brake switch, a solenoid valve interposed in a system for filling oil into a compression pressure opening type engine auxiliary brake 100 is opened. When an exhaust valve 8 is opened, and simultaneously an opening of a variable nozzle 151 of a turbo charger 102 is throttled for a predetermined rate by a controller 23, and thereby, it is promoted by pulsation of exhaust that high pressure air in an exhaust passage 103 makes reverse flow into a cylinder 1A, and much air is taken into the cylinder 1A. It is thus possible to generate large braking force by operating an engine 1 as a pump.</p>
