DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one VTR to edit and record a reproduced video signal and an input video signal. SOLUTION: A reproduction head reproduces a signal from a tape in precedence over a recording head by a time equivalent to a system delay. The signal is given to an Error Correction Coding(ECC) decoder 41, where an error is corrected, the result is given to a BRR decoder 43, where compression coding is released and interpolated by a conceal circuit 45. An output of the conceal circuit 45 is returned to a recorder side selector 15. The selector 15 selects a signal from an input terminal 10 or the returned reproduction signal at a break of fields. In-field coding or in-frame coding is selected in the compression coding and information denoting the selected coding is recorded on the tape.
