PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar heater which is independent of the shape of a substance to be heated and easily applied to any shape by burying a heating wire in a projection formed by sticking in parallel a plurality of trapezoidal or square rubber-like elastic bodies to one surface of a flexible sheet-shaped base material. SOLUTION: A heating wire is buried in the projection of a rubber-like elastic body, a space is formed between the projections which are parallel to each other to give flexibility to a planar heater 1, and thereby, the surface heater can easily be fit to the curved surface even if a substance to be heated has a curved surface. By burying the heating wire to the projections, heat is efficiently transmitted to the substance to be heated. By giving magnetic property to the rubber-like elastic body or forming a magnet layer or an adhesive layer on the top surface of the projection, the surface heater is easily, surely attached to the substance to be heated. As a sheet-shaped base material, a glass fiber woven-fabric is used, and as the rubber-like elastic body, silicone rubber, fluorine rubber or the like is used. For example, a heating wire 8 is buried in the projection of a rubber-like elastic body 4 of the planar heater 1 and an adhesive layer 6 is covered with releasing paper 7. |
