PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent backwashing treatment efficiency on washing and washing magnetic material captured on the filter surface of a magnetic separator from being lowered to effectively clean with small power consumption by continuously separating and removing all or a part of the magnetic material. SOLUTION: Pretreated water 12 containing magnetic material of magnetic flocs flows in a magnetic separation vessel 15 from an inlet 45. Magnetic force acting on the magnetic material having a large magnetic gradient is exerted in the direction in which its flow is blocked, and the magnetic material is captured in a part 46 in which the magnetic force is made larger than fluid force acting on the magnetic material and floats in the fluid. In this part 46, a suction pipe 48 in which holes 47 for sucking the captured magnetic material to discharge it to the outside are drilled is installed. The magnetic material is sucked in by the suction pipe 48 and conveyed to piping 24 through a discharge pipe 49. By giving such a pressure difference that the velocity at which removing force exceeding the magnetic force by which the magnetic material is captured is generated to between the inlet and outlet of the piping, the magnetic material can be removed through the suction pipe 48 having the holes 47 and the discharge pipe 49. |
