PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image filtering device and method capable of relieving the burden of the arithmetic processing needed for the filter processing and also significantly accelerating the filter processing speed. SOLUTION: This filtering device is provided with an achromatic signal production part 20 which extracts achromatic components by applying the weighted mean to the value of pixels having the color components corresponding to each other to form a color image, a filter part 24 which extracts the achromatic component having the intermediate value as the central value among those achromatic components of pixels included in a filter area set on the color image, the subtraction processing parts 21, 22 and 23 which subtract the achromatic component value of an attentional pixel from the value of this attentional pixel that should filter every color component, and the addition processing part 25, 26 and which and the center value extracted at the part 24 to the calculated value of the parts 21 to 13. In such a constitution, the attentional pixel and the filter area are successively scanned on the color image and the noises are eliminated from an entire color image. |
