SOLUTION: A thermal head is constructed of a plurality of heating elements R1-Rn arranged in a straight-line arrangement, shift registers S1-Sn composed of shift register cells S1...Sn in the number the same as the heating elements R1-Rn and connected with one another in series for inputting successively eacy one line of print data into each of such shift register cells by one bit at a time while storing each of the print data into each specified one of the shift register cells S1...Sn by transferring the print data serially among the shift register cells S1...Sn, a plurality of switching elements A1-An that controls, based on the print data in the shift register cells S1...Sn, electric current to be supplied to each of the heating elements R1-Rn, and a selector circuit B that is provided at the step preceding the shift registers S1-Sn and selects a shift register cell wherein one line of print data is inputted.</p> |
