PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrode material having high temperature stability and catalyst activity by employing a material having composition shown by a specified formula and a crystal structure other than perovskite-type. SOLUTION: A mixed oxide having composition shown by a formula and a crystal structure other than perovskite-type is employed. In the formula, A and/or D represents a cation applied below a stoichrometric amount from a series of lanthanoids or alkaline earth, B represents a polyvalent ion, and C represents a redox stability ion. δ is used for regulating charges when cations of various valences are applied. A slight defective point in an oxygen lattice is regulated by the content of oxygen incremented or decremented by δ. For example, assuming x=2 (about 0.005-2.995), y=0 (about 0.005-0.4), A = lanthanum, B = chromium, C = gallium in the first line of the formula, an electrode material shown by a formula La2.9 Cr2 Ga3 C12 ±δ is obtained. Consequently, a substantially perfect anion lattice can be generated through a slight mobility of oxygen depletion point and a slight catalytic activity incident thereto. |
