PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CO gas detection element that is less affected by a harmful H2 gas and has a superior heat resistance. SOLUTION: In an element, a pair of electrodes containing Pt are formed on the surface of an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte and one of the electrodes is covered with a catalyst where Pt or Ph is carried to at least one kind of carriers selected from Al2 O3 , SiO2 , and zeolite. The other is covered with a catalyst containing at least one kind of powder being selected from Al2 O3 , SiO2 , zeolite, SnO2 , Cr2 O3 , TiO2 , CaO, SrO, La2 O3 and CeO2 . |
